The only thing worse than finding out that my mom is a demon fighter, is the fact that I’m expected to take her place when she suddenly goes missing. The secret group that battles paranormal activity in my rural town assures me I’ve got what it takes, but my presence seems to seriously piss off the spirits. Mom's buddies can't figure out why I've suddenly become a target, and while it's certainly a concern for me, I’ve got other things on my mind.

The guy I’ve always hoped would notice me suddenly has, and I’m finding out we’ve got a lot more in common than just agreeing that he’s hot. Unfortunately, he's not the only guy interested in me. Jimmy—the local weirdo—is also part of my new paranormal crew... and is intent on protecting me. It’s hard to flirt with one guy while I’ve got another one tailing me. As if that wasn't enough, my BFF is mad I'm not returning her calls, and I can't tell her it's because I'm busy bullying poltergeists.

Now, a vicious underworld hound has been released to hunt me and dark voices are calling my name. I'm questioning if I'm even one of the good guys—or if I might instead actually belong to the other side.
